Ryan grew up in Carson City, NV and graduated from the University of Nevada with a BS in Chemical Engineering in 2006. He then completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011, with an emphasis in material characterization and design of catalysts used for aqueous reforming of biomass to fuels and chemicals. Since graduation, he has held various technical roles in both research and development and process engineering. He joined Lithium Nevada Corporation in 2018 as a senior process engineer where he worked primarily at the company’s small process testing facility in Reno. He is now the Technical Director and manages the Lithium Americas Technical Center, where he and his team focus on process development, optimization, and strategies for future technologies.
