Dr. Seema Yasmin

Dr. Seema Yasmin is a physician, journalist, author, and professor who has dedicated her career to helping people understand science and health. After earning her medical degree in the United Kingdom, she specialized in public health and later worked as a disease detective with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), helping investigate and respond to outbreaks of infectious diseases.

Today, Dr. Yasmin is a clinical assistant professor at Stanford University, where she teaches about health, journalism, and how to recognize misinformation online. She is also an Emmy Award-winning journalist who has reported on important global health issues, including pandemics, mental health, and public safety.

As an author, Dr. Yasmin has written several books that encourage readers to think critically about the information they see on social media and online. She believes that asking good questions, checking reliable sources, and using evidence are essential skills for everyone—especially young people.

Through her work as a doctor, educator, and storyteller, Dr. Seema Yasmin inspires students to stay curious, think independently, and use knowledge to make a positive difference in their communities and around the world.
