Raven Baxter is an environmental scientist, molecular biologist, educator, and science communicator who is passionate about making science exciting and accessible for everyone. Known online as Raven the Science Maven, she combines her love of science, music, and storytelling to inspire students to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
Raven earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in science education from The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout her career, she has conducted research in environmental science and molecular biology while working to improve science education and increase opportunities for underrepresented students in STEM fields.
In addition to her research and teaching, Raven creates engaging educational content through videos, music, podcasts, and public speaking. She has collaborated with museums, universities, and national organizations to help make science more approachable and enjoyable for learners of all ages.
