Dr. Jonathan C. McDowell is an astrophysicist, space historian, and internationally recognized expert on rockets, satellites, and space exploration.
For more than three decades, Dr. McDowell worked at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where he contributed to research involving the Chandra X-ray Observatory and studied some of the most powerful and mysterious objects in the universe, including black holes and quasars. Today, he continues his work as an Honorary Professor at Durham University’s Space Research Centre.
Dr. McDowell is also widely known for creating Jonathan’s Space Report, a long-running publication that tracks rocket launches, satellites, spacecraft, and other activity in Earth orbit.
