Persevering through Adversity
Alvin Law

Alvin Law is an international motivational speaker, musician, author, and actor who encourages people to look beyond labels and discover their potential. Born without arms because of the drug thalidomide, which his biological mother took during pregnancy, Alvin learned to use his feet to accomplish everyday tasks—and to play the drums and piano.

Raised by Hilda and Jack Law, Alvin grew up with encouragement to develop his independence, explore his talents, and believe in what was possible. Music became an important part of his life, offering a powerful way to express himself and challenge assumptions about disability.

Through humor, storytelling, and musical talent, Alvin connects with audiences around the world. He shares honest lessons about facing challenges, embracing differences, practicing gratitude, and recognizing the influence we can have on others.

For students discovering their own strengths and ambitions, Alvin’s journey offers a memorable invitation to challenge assumptions, persevere through setbacks, and treat others with kindness and respect. persevering through adversity
